Entrance of the sanctuary Before starting to write this blog, I would like to ask a question to people living in Kolkata or West Bengal. The question is..How many of you guys knew that a territory of birds existed among the territory of high risers? Well whenever we feel like watching wild animals and birds we visit the Alipore Zoo, but an entire territory of bird, an entire sanctuary of birds exists south of Kolkata near Ramkrishna Mission, Narendrapur. The place is named after the renowned sculptor, Chintamoni Kar and is situated just beside the house of Chintamoni Kar. One has to take the Metro rail from any Metro Station in Kolkata and has to get down at Kavi Nazrul Station which is the Garia Bazar Station.
