Urban Nature-Greenery amongst one of the busiest cities in the World,Kolkata
A Warning Sign to Humanity |
Hello Everyone! It’s been sometime since we put up our post in the blog and we came back with an absolutely new type of post! This post, as the title suggests is based on Urban Nature. With pollution and global warming on the rise, nature is at stake. Well for that let me dedicate the first photo to Northern White Rhinoceros which can be deemed extinct as only two female rhinoceros living in captivity.

So let’s focus on the post. I have been roaming
around Kolkata to get some photos of urban nature.
Here are some of the photos of wilderness given
below:
Graphic Flutterer or Banded Flutterer(Rhyothemis graphiptera)
The banded beauty-The Graphic Flutterer |
The graphic flutterer or the banded flutterer is a
beauty inhabiting ponds, swamps, lakes and lagoons. This one lost its way and
got stuck around my backyard. I was lucky to capture it with my lens that too
in my backyard.

The Australian Native to our common honey bee is
also known as blue banded bee. I have been particularly lucky to have found
this species around my backyard. I was checking my lens for dust spots when I
found this species, particularly hard to find out with naked eyes, I was able
to manoeuvre my camera to get a perfect shot of this bee. These busy bees are
always in motion and make a slight sound due to their fast motion of the wings.

Brown marmorated stink bug(Halyomorpha halys)
Colony of bugs- Brown marmorated stink bug seeks out in search of food |
This Chinese and Japanese native is considered an
agricultural pest. It can easily colonise an entire tree or agricultural land
and feed on it. I captured this bug on the tree and while doing so my camera
was able to face detect an entire family of them living on the leaves.

Green Stink Bug(Chinavia hilaris)
Ready for battlefield-The green soldier |
Well I managed to capture a family of stink bugs as
I said earlier. So, this is another type of those stink bugs also known as
Green Soldier Bugs. I was careful not to disturb this particular species of
stink bugs as they are known to release an extremely foul smelling liquid.
Breaking through barriers- The green soldier |
Arctiini (Erbid moths)
The Loner- Moth species |
Seen and heard about tigers? Well add the word ‘moth’
to it and now think where you have seen that type of animals? Well, don’t worry
about visiting a zoo; it’s there around you in your urban area. I found it
while I was in a stroll around a particularly green belt in the city.
Artiini or Erbid moths are a tribe of tiger moths in
the family Erebidae.
Jumping Spider(Hyllus sp)
Deadly look from the Son of Heracles |
This Jumping specialist is given name after Hyllus,
the son of Heracles and Deianira in Greek mythology. Common among household and
terrorising common people with its famous jump, I managed to capture the deadly
look from this spider while it was on its hunting trip. It can perfectly
camouflage itself among bricks and moss and algae.

Well, let's now move into the next section of the photo blog where I showcased the street shoots around Kolkata.
Have you ever seen such
a serene sunset? I was only walking back home after a tired working day when i
gazed the sun through the trees and I found out this.

I was walking down Red
Road, the camera hanging down my hand when I suddenly gazed upon a spot which
resembles a gateway. Moments later I was looking at this photograph in my
camera viewfinder.

I visited the Paradise Garden Park last weekend.
Wait you have never heard about this place? Don’t you worry; I will introduce
you to the place soon. Here’s some photo from the place. See if you can guess!
