Netarhat : A Journey amidst Hills and Clouds

Beauty amidst hills and clouds : Netarhat

Netarahat is a town in Indian state of Jharkhand and it is basically a hill station. Jharkhand has widespread network of national  highways and state highways although from kolkata we have started our journey through train. From Howrah the nearest major railway station is Ranchi 155 km away from Netarahat.

Ranchi Railway Station

So we started our journey from Ranchi towards Netarhat, with few pit stops for meals and photo sessions.

Road to the hilltop : Ranchi to Netarhat

En route to Netarhat we encountered some humps around the road side. Mammoth sized rocks stood beside us welcoming us to the world of hills and clouds.

Grand Welcome : Humps around the roadsides

Highway Humps : Giant rock structure beside roads

Speedy capture : Captured hump while on road

It is also known as "Queen of Chotanagpur"....After having a long train journey we have visited several place of interest...during the entire journey we have encountered so many small hills and most of them are made from crystalline rocks and sandstone.

On reaching Netarhat we checked ourselves into Hotel Prabhat Vihar. It was a grand hotel on the laps of hills and nature. We started our sightseeing after having a small lunch.

Koyel View Point : View the entire valley from top

Stride with pride : A wild elephant captured

This photo was captured at Koyel View Point. But the interesting fact is we got to encounter a wild elephant who abruptly came out of the forest.Honestly I was scared but it was amazing. It seems that the elephant on that day have decided to get me the chance to capture so many pictures. Although we had been waiting and running here and there for few hours on the same place due to the destructive nature of that Jumbo. The Jumbo was very angry and had been destroyed so many things.  There were also some policy officer's who also tried to tamed that elephant.  But after a long discrepancies there came the quiescence. The whole thing what we have to faced will remain in our heart forever.

After having a brief period of Man vs wild encounter at Koyel View Point, we were ready for our next destination - Upper Ghaghri Falls. By the way, Jumbo also attacked our Tata Sumo. Our driver was scared that he would damage the car and throw it downhill. We comforted him and we started with our journey.

Small yet beautiful : Upper Ghagri Falls
It is that time when I behold my eyes on the cascading waterfall located 4km from Netarahat named Upper Ghagri Fall. It is quite small but it has its beauty with its own perception. There I get the chance to click some pictures but beside all this I truly feel the sound of falling water which makes the surrounding musical and the soothing beauty of that place feel awesome.

Short Plunge : Upper Ghagri Falls
After making friendship with nature and sitting on her lap for about half and hour at Upper Ghagri Falls, we made our journey to the Magnolia Sunset Point as the sun was dipping below horizon and light was shedding its power.

Where the sun sets : Magnolia Sunset Point

Netarahat is famous for its glorious sunrise and sunset. But after reaching that place we have observed some sculptures which was released to a short history of that place. The scenario of that place is unbelievably polished. But on that day the cloudy sky gives patrol to the sun as it was totally out of the sight. After a great anticipation finally we get the chance to feel the mesmerising beauty of the sun.

Walk into the deep silent jungle : Magnolia Sunset Point

After watching the sunset, we decided to take a long silent walk downhill into the deep jungle and feel the moment, the breeze, the silence.
We returned soon enough as the light was fading rapidly and we didn't want to get lost amidst forest in some hilltop of Jharkhand!
The night at Netarhat was also mesmerizing. At night we have faced a pleasant thrilling beauty of Nature. From our hotel there seems a dark forest. The atmosphere was cool and deep darkness which seems to surround us from all sides. The sky was very dark and cloudy, the fogs go by an average height through the forest while making a visible polite layers.

Cold foggy night : Netarhat

Although the experience is not less than any thrilling movies but the pleasure of such an experience was extremely superstructural and beautiful.

Morning at Netarhat
Next morning we left early as we had to reach Ranchi and do some sightseeing.
Enroute we got to explore some more beauty of Jharkhand.

Breathtaking landscape : Enroute to Ranchi
The place is known for its attractive landscape including the breathtaking waterfall and the odour of Nature. The place is covered with thick forest and with its long streets. During our long journey we have seen various kinds of planst and flowers beside the roads. The colour of those plants and flowers makes a beautiful path which almost feels like a heavenly experience. The streets are quite enough and it seems that the untold music of Mother Nature is ringing all the times with its whispering tone.

Next in Ranchi, after driving about 140 kms, we went to a visit Dassam Falls. It is a very beautiful fall near Ranchi.

The ten streams fall : Dassam Falls

The Dassam Falls is situated at 34 km from the city of Ranchi on Ranchi-Tata road near the Taimara village. The place is also known as Dassam Garh. The major water source of this waterfall is River Kachni, which falls here from an altitude of 144 feet. The unique feature of this fall is that when the waterfall is seen, 10 water streams are also seen falling.
